Sebaceous Hyperplasia is a common harmless enlargement of the skin oil glands.
It occurs in about 1% of the US population usually in adults in their 40’s -60’s.

Signs and Symptoms
Sebaceous Hyperplasia may present in a form of a single or multiple lesions. They usually appear on someone’s face, chest, upper arms, mouth lining and around genitals or around nipples. The lesions are small (2–9 mm), painless, whitish-yellow-to-pink or skin-colored bumps, often with a central depression or dimple.*

Prognosis*
Sebaceous Hyperplasia is a benign condition and does not have long term complications. Unfortunately, Sebaceous Hyperplasia will not go away on its own.
You might want to consider removing these lesions for the following reasons:
If the lesions are irritated (by shaving, by wearing glasses, or clothing)
If they are cosmetically bothersome.
If you have many lesions (over 10)
If they are growing or bleeding.

Treatment options:*

Distraction by blade free Radiosurgery
Freezing (cryosurgery)
Burning (cautery)
Applying topical chemicals
Applying a drug activated by light (photodynamic therapy)
Laser treatment
Cutting out the lesions (excision)

One of the list invasive and most effective treatments is blade free Radiosurgery. To learn more about this method of removal of Sebaceous Hyperplasia please click here.

On average 3-7 days, depending on size location and skin type.*

How much does the treatment cost?
The cost of removal flactuates between $200-$1000 depending on location, number and size of lesions. The price will be given during initial consultation. Consultation fee is $200. If treatment performed, consultation fee will be applied toward the cost of the procedure.
