Sculptra® is an injectable poly-L-lactic acid (PLLA) treatment that works gradually by stimulating collagen production and helping restore facial structure over time.
At Dermacare Medical, Sculptra treatments are performed by Dr. Yuriy Yagudin and individualized according to facial anatomy, volume changes, skin quality and aesthetic goals.
$799 per vial
New patients only.
The number of vials and treatment sessions needed varies by patient and is determined after consultation. Pricing is subject to current practice terms and may change.
Individual results vary. Before-and-after photography does not guarantee a specific outcome.
Sculptra contains poly-L-lactic acid, a biocompatible synthetic material. Rather than functioning primarily as an instant volumizing gel, Sculptra is designed to stimulate collagen production so improvement develops progressively.
Current U.S. labeling includes correction of shallow-to-deep nasolabial fold contour deficiencies, fine lines and wrinkles in the cheek region, and other facial wrinkles in appropriate patients.
Facial aging involves changes in collagen, skin quality, fat compartments and underlying support. Sculptra is injected into selected tissue planes where the PLLA particles initiate a gradual collagen response. The initial fullness immediately after injection is not the final result; some of that early volume reflects the injected solution and temporary swelling. Improvement develops progressively as collagen remodeling occurs.
Works gradually by stimulating collagen production. It is commonly selected when the goal is progressive structural improvement rather than an immediate gel-filler effect.
Hyaluronic-acid fillers such as selected Juvederm and Restylane products provide volume through an injectable gel and typically produce more immediate visible correction.
Neither approach is automatically better. Product selection depends on anatomy, treatment goals, location and physician assessment.
Sculptra may be used for fine lines, wrinkles and selected structural concerns in the cheek region.
Shallow-to-deep folds extending from the nose toward the corners of the mouth are included in Sculptra’s labeled facial indications.
Lines framing the mouth may be treated as part of an individualized facial plan.
Selected chin wrinkles may be addressed when appropriate for Sculptra treatment.
Treatment can be planned to improve age-related changes in facial structure while avoiding overcorrection.
Not every facial area is appropriate for Sculptra. Injection location and technique are selected after examination.
Sculptra requires careful assessment of facial anatomy, tissue changes, symmetry and the amount of correction desired. Because results develop gradually, treatment planning should account for both the immediate post-injection appearance and the expected collagen response.
At Dermacare Medical, Dr. Yuriy Yagudin performs the treatment after an individual facial assessment and develops a plan based on the patient’s anatomy and goals.
Sculptra is not intended to create an exaggerated immediate correction. Treatment is staged so improvement can develop progressively, with additional treatment considered according to response.
After consultation and treatment planning, Sculptra is injected into selected facial areas using techniques appropriate to the treatment location. Comfort measures may be used. Temporary swelling can create early fullness that decreases after treatment before gradual collagen-related improvement becomes apparent.
Sculptra results develop gradually. Many patients begin to notice progressive improvement over the weeks following treatment rather than seeing the final result immediately. Clinical-study participants have demonstrated results beginning as early as approximately one month, with sustained improvement reported for up to two years in studied patients. Individual results and duration vary.
There is no single treatment plan for every patient. Typical treatment may involve a series of sessions spaced several weeks apart, but the number of sessions and vials depends on anatomy, degree of correction, treatment area and response. Your plan is determined after examination.
5 minutes · 5 times a day · 5 days
Patients are generally instructed to massage treated areas for five minutes, five times daily, for five days, or as otherwise directed by their physician. A cloth-wrapped cold pack may be used during the first 24 hours to help with swelling. Follow the individualized instructions provided after treatment.
Strenuous exercise and significant sun, UV or extreme-temperature exposure are generally minimized during the initial post-treatment period as directed.
Common reported effects include injection-site swelling, tenderness, redness, pain, bruising, bleeding, itching and lumps. Small subcutaneous nodules and larger or delayed-onset lumps have also been reported.
Sculptra should not be used in patients allergic to its ingredients or with a history of keloid formation or hypertrophic scarring. Treatment should be postponed at sites with active skin sores, cysts, pimples, rashes, hives or infection. Current U.S. safety information also states that Sculptra should not be injected into blood vessels because vascular occlusion and serious complications can occur, and it should not be injected into the lip vermilion or peri-orbital area.
Safety has not been established in patients who are pregnant, lactating, breastfeeding or under age 18. A complete medical history and individual evaluation are required before treatment.
Sculptra stimulates collagen and produces gradual improvement. Hyaluronic-acid fillers primarily provide immediate volume through an injectable gel.
The number varies considerably with anatomy, treatment area and treatment goals. A vial recommendation should be made after examination rather than by a fixed formula.
Many patients receive a series of treatments over several months. The manufacturer reports an average of two to three sessions, but the appropriate plan is individualized.
Clinical studies have reported sustained results for up to two years in studied patients. Individual duration varies.
Many patients return to normal activities quickly, although swelling, redness, tenderness and bruising can occur. Follow your physician’s aftercare instructions.
Post-treatment massage is recommended to help distribute Sculptra in the treated area. The commonly recommended schedule is the 5-5-5 regimen unless your physician gives different instructions.
Yes. Small bumps or nodules and larger lumps, including delayed-onset reactions, have been reported. Appropriate injection technique and follow-up are important.
Cost depends on the number of vials and treatment sessions required. Dermacare Medical’s current new-patient vial offer is shown near the top of this page.
