Visible spider veins and small vascular lesions can develop on the face and body. At Dermacare Medical, Dr. Yuriy Yagudin uses Cutera CoolGlide laser technology to treat appropriate superficial vessels without incisions or injections into the vein.
Treatment is individualized according to the size, color, depth and location of the visible vessels as well as the patient’s skin and medical history.
From $250
The final cost depends on the treatment area and extent of visible vessels.
Laser treatment of visible vessels.
Treatment of selected facial/under-eye vessels.
Individual results vary. Before-and-after photographs do not guarantee a specific outcome.
CoolGlide uses a long-pulsed 1064 nm Nd:YAG laser. Light energy is absorbed by hemoglobin in the targeted vessel and converted to heat. This damages the selected vessel so it can gradually become less visible as the body clears it over time.
Integrated contact cooling helps protect the skin surface and improve comfort during treatment.
Laser therapy can be useful for selected small facial vessels, spider veins and other superficial vascular lesions. Larger bulging varicose veins or symptoms such as persistent leg swelling, pain or skin changes may require vascular evaluation rather than cosmetic laser treatment.
Small visible vessels and telangiectasias around the nose, cheeks and other appropriate facial areas.
Selected spider veins and small visible vessels on the thighs, knees, calves and ankles.
Selected benign vascular lesions may also be evaluated for laser treatment based on their size, depth and appearance.
Facial vessels are often smaller and more superficial, while leg veins may vary substantially in diameter and depth. Leg spider veins can also be associated with underlying venous disease.
Because the cause and anatomy differ, treatment settings, expected response and the number of sessions may differ between facial and leg vessels.
Laser treatment works through the skin without placing a solution into the vein. Sclerotherapy involves injecting a solution directly into selected leg veins. Depending on vessel size and location, one approach may be more appropriate than the other. Some patients may require vascular evaluation or another treatment rather than laser therapy.
The number of sessions varies. Vessel diameter, depth, location, number of vessels, prior treatment and individual response all affect the treatment plan.
Some vessels respond substantially after one session, while others require additional treatments. Follow-up is scheduled after enough time has passed to evaluate the response.
Temporary redness, swelling, tenderness, bruising or darkening of treated vessels may occur. Most patients can return to routine daily activities quickly, but specific activity and sun-exposure instructions depend on the treatment area and response.
Protect treated skin from excessive sun exposure and follow the individualized instructions provided by Dermacare Medical. Do not pick, scratch or traumatize areas that develop temporary crusting or surface irritation.
Visible vessels are not all the same. Appropriate treatment depends on distinguishing small cosmetic spider veins from larger veins or findings that may require a different medical evaluation.
Dr. Yuriy Yagudin performs laser and light-based aesthetic procedures at Dermacare Medical and individualizes treatment according to vessel characteristics, anatomy and skin response.
Tell Dr. Yagudin about your medications, medical conditions, pregnancy status, prior vein procedures, tendency to bruise and recent tanning or sun exposure. Avoid applying makeup or cosmetic products over the treatment area when instructed.
Do not stop prescribed medications or routinely take medication specifically for the procedure unless advised by the appropriate clinician.
Temporary redness, swelling, tenderness, bruising, discoloration, darkening of treated vessels or surface irritation can occur. Candidacy, expected recovery, risks, benefits and alternatives are reviewed during consultation.
The laser delivers light that is absorbed by blood within a selected vessel. The resulting heat damages the targeted vessel, which may then become less visible as the body gradually clears it.
Selected small facial vessels, including visible vessels around the nose and cheeks, can be appropriate for laser treatment after examination.
Yes, selected leg spider veins and small superficial vessels can be treated. Larger or symptomatic veins may require a different approach or vascular evaluation.
Patients commonly describe warmth, stinging or a brief snapping sensation. Comfort varies with vessel size, location and individual sensitivity. Contact cooling is used with CoolGlide.
Improvement is usually gradual. Treated vessels may initially become darker or more visible before fading over the following weeks.
There is no fixed number for every patient. Some vessels respond after one session, while others require additional treatment.
A successfully treated vessel may remain less visible, but treatment does not prevent new vessels from developing in the future. Genetics, hormones and other factors can contribute to new spider veins.
Dermacare Medical currently offers laser spider vein treatment from $250. Exact pricing depends on the number, size and treatment area of the vessels.
Meet with Dr. Yuriy Yagudin to determine whether CoolGlide laser treatment is appropriate for your facial or body spider veins.
